Immediately when putting the Raceframe on, we knew that the new innovative designs that Fox has incorporated made a huge difference. In the past, we haven’t been huge fans of Fox’s other chest protectors, as they just seemed too large and cumbersome for our likes. The new, sleeker Raceframe, though, is far from that. The integrated buckles make putting it on super easy, and the seven-way flex system on the back panel along with the two-way co-molded hinging chest plate give it the feel of being almost molded to your body. And since we aren’t big fans of arm guards, it was a big plus that they are easily removable.

Perhaps one of the biggest things that we look for in a chest protector is that it fits well and gives you a secure feeling, and like we mentioned, the Raceframe does just that. Out on the track, the comfort level is second to none. So much so that we almost forgot that we were wearing a chest protector.  Nothing on this protector is too big or two small, it all fits just right, and since it is available in small, medium, and large sizes, there is sure to be one that will fit you. As for protection, we never really crash tested it, but can attest that for roost, the Raceframe is the one of the best.

It goes without saying that if you’ve seen some of our other videos on the site, we don’t usually ride without wearing a Leatt Brace. In the case of this test, though, we decided to test the protector by itself, and not cut it up just yet to get a Leatt Brace to fit. We can say, though, that with the thick Lycra padding around the neck opening, it would be pretty easy to fit a Leatt. We’ll keep you posted on this, and be sure to check back later for an update.

            RATING

At the end of the day, this is probably one of the best, most comfortable chest protectors that we’ve ever worn. The new seven-way pivot system does a great job of form fitting to your body, and the various sizes and colors available will make it a great choice for nearly anyone.
