Press day at Sam Boyd Stadium allowed the lights of Vegas to shine in the bright of day. Top contenders Chad Reed, Andrew Short, Ryan Dungey and Christophe Pourcel all hit the track for a warm-up session before the big event.
Riding the newly plated #1 Kawasaki, Christophe Pourcel shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming race, "this weekend will be a big race for the fans, it is never easy to win all the races but I will do my best. I already got the championship and that was the most important thing for me."
Who are you most looking forward to race against?
"I think Dungey will be pretty good this weekend. I think he will be the rider to beat this weekend, you never know who you have to look for."

A mechanical issue (I'm told he broke/lost his chain) ended Pourcel's practice session before the checkered flag.

Dungey also sported his new number plate with the hard-earned 1W!
The riders quickly adjusted to the rhythms of the new track. Check back later tonight for the full race report and photos from our very own Jeff Kardas, coming to you live from Vegas!
