This year's Rockstar Energy Drink US Open is shaping up to be one for the ages. With a new format, new faces and people motoring around on new bikes you can expect a few interesting things to happen throughout the weekend. Today's press conference is available via webcast, and you can checkout CBS Sports for coverage OCT 17th.
During the conference RV disclosed that at 6 p.m. last night he decided to make the trip to Sin City and race this weekend's event. "I've been riding for two weeks and I feel real good. I wanted to get out and race before I show up for Anaheim."
RV also let slide that Chad Reed has in fact been riding the Kawasaki's although nothing yet is confirmed.
"Well I have rode with him, he's not signed yet, that's all I know. I don't know what they are waiting on, what the deal is. From the looks of it that's what's going to happen so we'll see how it is. We'll see I haven't been around him that much, we'll see how it is, we'll see what happens to the team if it gets split up in a new way."

| Surely there are a few people in Vegas with their money on JS7, we can't blame them. |
James Stewart made an effort to mention his new reality TV show as well as plug his Twitter feed. He also took a minute to talk a bit about his new Yamaha YZ450F.
"When I first rode it, it was pretty good it was pretty simple for me. I feel confident and we'll let the racing speak for itself."
After the press conference I was able to ask James some questions of my own.
What is your goal for tomorrow night?
"Try to come back and see where I am at. We have a new bike, and I want to see where we are at."
How does your new bike compare to last year's model?
"I think last year we were on the same playing field, I think this year we are above them."
Hypothetically speaking what are your thoughts of Chad on the green bike?
"It's weird but I don't even care whatever he does that's his deal."
You've done a lot to broaden the sport and open it to new demographics where do you go from here?
"The reality TV show we are working on is going to definitely be big, I understand racing and I understand the TV side of it. That's what we are working on. Sometimes you gotta smile, dance every once in a while throw on a wig, and if you do that I mean you can really get there."
Check back tomorrow for all the happenings from the US Open and more inside interviews and pictures!
