Hey guys, I'm Jason and am new to motocross.com and want to say first off this is an awsome website.

I have a pitbike right now, and used to have a Ninja a few years back. Now I am considering buying my first big dirtbike.

I don't have too much money, and was wondering what you guys reccomend for a first bike (5"11, 180lbs). I have trails around my house, but also want to start riding some outdoor mx tracks. Should I go with a 125 2-stroke, or 4 stroke? Eveyone says the 150 4 stroke is too small, but I am not sure if a 250f four stroke would be too much to start out with.

Also I drive a Mazda 3 sedan, and was wondering how you guys with smaller cars carry your big bikes around? I was having trouble finding trailers online.

Thanks
Big Al

dang a 450 to start with?

I guess I should ask if a 125 is suitable for trail riding some, or just for tracks?

250f oki but aparantly a 125 2smoker its lees reliable that a 250 2stroke whats the equivelent of a 450f so im keeing mi cr85 for an extra year then getting a 250 2stroke coz they cheaper to run

Well my friend has a 125 2 stroke and its not reliable at all for trial riding. He's blown his engine 3 times and we've had to tow him back to the camp site.
He does have a suzuki 250 2 stroke that he says is very reliable.
Yeah I started out with a 450 I rode a TTR230 for like 15min before I got my 450.
I mostly ride track so I get to learn among all the traffic at Milestone.

Hope I helped.

thanks for the info. I think I might go with one of the newer 250f four strokes. Can you jump them, like a CRF250? I don't want to actually race, but want to be able to catch some air on my bike.

yes u can jump a 250f like a crf250. u can jump it even better. if u have the suspension set up for u. set the sag on ur bike. to do that put all ur riding gear on and just sit on the bike. u want ur back shock going down and inch. if not adjust it. read in ur owners manual to find out how to do that. it does not have to be exactally an inch. just somewhere around that.
