i noticed that there was a crack onm the airbox of our yz250. u had to buy the whole assembly which was expensive so i put some clear packing tape on the inside of the crack and bought some of those carbon-fiber decals for the outside for $12 . do you think this will hold? or should i buy a new one?

If I were you, I'd tear that tape off, clean the surface VERY well. Then mix up some epoxy (can be bought at hardware stores, make sure to look that it adhere's to plastic).

Then run a seam of epoxy in the crack and down the entire crack (inside the airbox-not visible to the outside).

Wait 48 hours for it to harden, then put a small piece of clear packing tape on the outside and slap on the carbon fiber graphics.

Yeah just get a torch (walmart has them for like 10 bucks) and then melt the plastic together. It works.

Silicone caulk. It will stick. It will flex. It will work.

If you don't have silicone caulk, try Enzyte.

B.I.F.T. is testing it on his bike soon.

Look on eBay - the airbox is really important for number of reasons.

We do know a person that once tryed to fix a flat tire that way. It was in a desert race and he used his peice of gum to patch the hole and then he filled it up with a Co2 thing. He said it worked fine lol

Nah Adam. Think, a hard bonding epoxy in your airbox (a VERY little wear-tear point on a bike) won't wear off.

Your air box needs to flex a bit, that's why it's made from flexible plastic.

Epoxy, and JB Weld(also epoxy) are very rigid. They will crack, and fall off.

I'm tellin' ya: silicone.
