Chad Reed. Wrapped it up with 4 motos to go, he did, and no - he's not racing a 250 for the rest of the season.

Jake Weimer was excellent in the first moto, which was fairly dry. He was flat out awesome in the 2nd moto, which was wetter than any race we've ever seen: And before you ask, yes - we were at Daytona 2008. Weimer and Metcalfe ran away from the field in the 2nd moto, which was held under monsoon-style rains and was ultimately red-flagged after the 25 minute mark.

As fast as Tommy Hahn was, it's OK if he looked like a goon here and there. Tommy put in another great ride to end up an impressive 2nd in moto 2.

The second 2nd 250 moto start took place just moments before the REALLY hard rain started. Make no mistake, it was raining plenty hard when this photo was snapped, but it rained much harder during the race, and got harder the longer the moto wore on. It was ultimately red flagged at the 25 minute mark, which is when the race is officially "done enough" that it can be called complete. Weimer won the moto.

Justin Barcia shows how dark the skies were getting, with many of the photos looking like they were shot during supercross season. Barcia rode hard and was going fast, but he was off the lead pace and went 4-7 for 4th overall.

Reed moved up from a mediocre start (thanks to Reardon's crash in the first turn), but he had little problem moving up quickly. He went from 6th to 2nd in a single lap in the beginning of the moto, then ran down a sprinting and fading Davi Millsaps. Reed bridged a 20 second gap to finish right on Davi's wheel.

Reed hopped into the series at the last moment, then took a while to get rolling. He lined up figuring he'd be racing Villopoto, Alessi and possibly Stewart, but he ended up dominating his remaining competition and stamped his authority over the rest of the field.

Ryan Dungey is in a bit of a slump and if he wants a chance at winning the title, he needs to recover from it ASAP. He's now 13 points behind Pourcel, having lost another 7 here at Budds.

This is the moment when Dan Reardon's return to racing went from very rosy to very not, as he plowed into the ground right in front of the entire field.

As if Reardon's fall wasn't enough of a bummer, it effected much more than just him. In one crash that affected every Australian and New Zealander in the moto, Reardon's day went from bad to worse. He didn't finish the first moto and then DNS the second one. Let's hope Reardo's alright.

OK, it looks like this kid is the real deal. He proved himself two weekends in a row, and this time the conditions were about as tough as they get. Regal ran down a lot of big names at Budds Creek, and was 100% solid both motos to go 4-4 on the day for 4th overall. That's officially the best 'privateer' performance of the season in a season that's been full of great privateer performances.

The first 250 moto was awesome, as the lead trio of Pourcel, Weimer and Dungey ran in tight formation about 30 secs ahead of Barcia back in 4th. Weimer led for several laps before Pourcel finally found his way around. But this time, both Weimer and Dungey matched his pace as only a couple of seconds were spread between all 3 for most of the moto.

Moss looked awesome on the Monster/Kawi in moto one, running top 3 before colliding with Matt Goerke where his bike sustained damaged that resulted in a DNF.

IT was ready for the mud but the 2nd 450 moto wasn't all that wet. Tedesco jockeyed for position with Reed for the lead heading over the finish line for the beginning of lap one, then outsprinted him for several laps. Eventually Tedesco succumbed, but he looked fast and comfortable out front and managed a 3rd for the moto.

Team Green's Baggett lined up between Pourcel and Dungey for the 1st moto. He proceeded to get tangled up with Brett Metcalfe before they made it to the first turn and was forced to battle his way back to 12th. That's an impressive first pro moto, so keep an eye on Blake in Southwick.
