Weimer looked good and held fastest lap (even though it wasn't officially timed qualifying), before dropping back to around 5th by the session's end.

Tedesco seemed solid and quick, but there are a lot of other riders in the Open class going fast too. His unofficial position at the end was 6th fastest.

Dungey didn't look bad either, but since it wasn't timed qualifying it was difficult to judge how he'll hold up come race time. We're about to find out though, as the qualifiers are lining up now...

A bit of a surprise was how great 15 year old German Ken Roczen looked - he ended up 3rd fastest and was tied for the best whip.

Deano made his big international pro class debut this morning, and looked solid and fast. Surprisingly, his times were almost 6 seconds off the pace of Searle, Musquin and Roczen.

The award for best Team USA gear goes to THOR, and the stuff they put on Weimer. He looked like Uncle Sam himself out there.

Jake pushed it hard for several laps, but wasn't able to end up better than 5th in the final times. Not that it matters though, as gate picks for the qualifiers were based on a lottery rather than lap times.
