AUSX Open Returns This Saturday: How to Watch, Riders, Track Map, and More
The long-awaited return of the AUSX Open in Australia is here! 2019 saw the last year for the biggest Supercross event post-pandemic down under. The 2024 AUSX Open will take place this Saturday, November 30th, in Melbourne, Australia, at Marvel Stadium and will form part of the FOX Australian Supercross Championship’s major fifth and final round.
After a long absence, the Australian brother-duo Honda HRC Progressive's Jett and Hunter Lawrence will be back racing in their home country after five years. Jett is the current 450 SMX (SuperMotocross) World Champion, and his brother Hunter finished second in his 450 pro debut season this past season. Fun fact: Jett Lawrence began his professional Supercross career at the 2019 AUSX Open at Marvel Stadium. They will give it their all on the track Saturday, pushing for victory in front of their hometown crowd.
Adding to the competition and trying to spoil the duo's reappearance is American Cooper Webb on the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team. The North Carolina native won the "King of Paris" crown at the Paris Supercross two weekends ago over the brothers. The two-time Monster Energy 450 Supercross Champion is poised to race against the Australian brothers on their soil.
More riders are to be announced.
