Cooper Webb and Tom Vialle Win Paris Supercross
The 41st anniversary of the Paris Supercross delivered great racing as Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing's Cooper Webb claimed the SX1 victory in his debut Fly Racing gear over Husqvarna's Malcolm Stewart and Honda HRC's Jett Lawrence. At the same time, Red Bull KTM's Tom Vialle secured the SX2 title with a strong Sunday performance. Here is the recap from the two-day format.
SX1 Recap - Saturday
In the SX1 class, Jett Lawrence came close to a flawless evening, showcasing his speed by dominating the Superpole and winning two of the three races. However, a late mistake in the second race, caused by a backmarker, led to damage to his bike, opening the door for Malcolm Stewart and Cooper Webb to battle for the overall victory. Heading into the final race, Webb and Stewart were tied on points, setting up an intense showdown. Webb’s consistent performance (2-1-2) ultimately secured him the overall win, edging out Stewart (3-2-3). Rounding out the top five were Phoenix Racing Factory Connection Honda's Dylan Ferrandis (4-4-4), Honda HRC's Hunter Lawrence (5-3-5), and Jett Lawrence (1-13-1).
SX2 Recap - Saturday
In SX2, Honda HRC's Jo Shimoda and Tom Vialle were the dominant forces, each claiming multiple wins. However, costly mistakes—Vialle finishing 12th in the first race and Shimoda 11th in the final—prevented either from reaching the day’s podium. Consistency proved crucial, with Anthony Bourdon (3-4-2) taking the overall victory. Calvin Fonvieille (2-3-6) and Maxime Desprey (4-5-4) joined him on the podium, while Vialle (12-1-1) and Shimoda (1-2-11) fell short despite their speed. Both riders remain contenders for the coveted "Prince of Paris" title entering Sunday.
SX1 Recap - Sunday
Despite being the most successful SX1 rider over the weekend, winning five of six finals, Jett Lawrence’s bike damage in one race cost him the overall victory. Cooper Webb’s consistent podium finishes across all six races earned him the top spot and the new King of Paris, ahead of Malcolm Stewart. On Sunday, Webb (2-2-3) outperformed Stewart (3-4-2) to win the overall by three points. Jett claimed third overall after sweeping all three Sunday races, followed by Hunter Lawrence and Dylan Ferrandis, whose weekend ended with a crash in the final race.
SX2 Recap - Sunday
Tom Vialle redeemed himself on Sunday to secure the SX2 crown in his second Paris Supercross appearance and claim the Prince of Paris. After finishing second to Shimoda in the day’s opening race, Vialle won the next two, tying Anthony Bourdon on points but taking the title with four total wins. Shimoda, sidelined by a mechanical failure in one race, missed the overall podium. The final standings saw an all-French podium featuring Vialle, Bourdon, and Desprey, closing out an action-packed 41st edition of the Paris Supercross.
