Cooper Webb Out at Budds Creek, Eli Tomac Returns

Cooper Webb is set to miss Budds Creek this weekend, while Eli Tomac makes his return.

The ups and downs of the sport are brutal. In a recent Instagram post from Yamaha bLU CRU, the up for the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team is Eli Tomac, who will officially return to the AMA Pro Motocross Championship this weekend at Budds Creek after surgery from a Bennett fracture and torn ligaments forced him to miss the final round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship in Salt Lake City, and the first nine rounds of Pro Motocross.

The 4x 450MX Pro Motocross Champion and 2x Monster Energy AMA 450SX Supercross Champion is gearing up for the SuperMotocross World Championship Playoffs next month. Today, we also learned that Eli will compete in the 2024 FIM World Supercross Championship in late October.

On the downside, Cooper Webb returned to racing this past weekend at Unadilla from his thumb injury, finishing a solid 8th in the first moto. During the second moto, he crashed, spraining the thumb that had taken him out for the first nine rounds of Pro Motocross. Webb will take the weekend off from Budds Creek to heal the thumb and see about returning to Ironman for the final round next weekend.

The 2x Monster Energy AMA 450SX Supercross Champion wants to "play it smart, rest it for a few days" and prepare for the SuperMotocross World Championship Playoffs in September and beyond.
