Jett Lawrence Sweeps the Season Opener

Jett is now 24 - 0 in Pro Motocross wins. Now tied with the legendary James Stewart. Can he beat his record and make it to 25 consecutive wins?

The season opener at Fox Raceway wraps up with last year's 450 premier class champion Jett Lawrence continuing his winning streak. Starting up front in both motos, avoiding first turn pile ups, Jett continues to make it look effortless. He states on the podium "couldn't go as fast as I wanted to" which is almost a scary thing to hear. Jett takes the win in both motos but it didn't come easy.

Hunter Lawrence, Jett's older brother, was right on his rear fender in both motos. An impressive ride for his 450 rookie season debut. Pulling the holeshot in Moto 2 Hunter leads the pack briefly before Jett gets by. Hunter stays on the gas reeling his brother back in nearly passing him back before being overtaken by Chase Sexton. Hunter goes 2 & 3 for second place overall finish. Even though they are brothers, Jett knows that Hunter wants his wins too, and won't back off. Chase Sexton found himself on the ground in Moto 1 after a small collision with Dylan Ferrandis salvaging a fourth place finish but came back strong in Moto 2 with a second place finish taking third overall.

Now standing at 24 - 0 Jett is only one moto win away from taking James Stewart's winning streak record. Joking with James on the podium stating "he wants bragging rights on the golf course". Will Jett make it to 25 moto wins in a row? Next up would be Ricky Carmicheal's records of 30 & 31 moto win streaks. Find out next weekend when Pro Motocross returns to Hangtown for round two.
